Quality & documentation

The paperwork is part of the part.

A fastener without its documentation is a fastener you can't use on a job that requires documentation. We keep certs attached to heat lots from receiving through shipping, so the paper comes out of the same transaction the parts do.

Certification

ISO 9001:2015

One facility, one scope, audited annually. Below is what a supplier qualification form asks for. Ask us for the certificate itself and you'll get the registration details on it, signed — we don't publish them on a web page.

We hold ISO 9001 only. We are not AS9100 or AS9120 registered and we don't hold ITAR registration — if your program requires either, we'll tell you at the quote rather than after the order.

Traceable Lines

What carries documentation, and what it carries

Graded and structural product is received, binned and picked by heat lot. Commodity low-carbon product ships with a certificate of conformance but not a mill report — we say which is which at the quote.

  • A325 Structural

  • A563 DH Nuts

  • F436 Washers

  • Grade 8 Cap Screws

  • A574 Socket Caps

  • B7 Stud Material

  • 18-8 & 316 Stainless

  • Hardened Lock Washers

  • Wedge Anchors

  • Nylon Insert Nuts

  • Dowel & Roll Pins

  • Machine Screws

Documentation

What we can send with a shipment

Ask for documentation at the time you order, not after it ships — once parts leave the building, matching paper back to the heat lot you received gets expensive for both of us.

Certificate of Conformance

Statement that the parts supplied meet the called-out specification, signed and tied to your order number. Available on any line we ship.

Any line / request at order

Mill Test Report

The mill's or manufacturer's report for the heat lot, showing chemistry and the mechanical tests the product standard requires — proof load, tensile and hardness as applicable.

Graded · Structural / per heat lot

Country Of Origin

Stated on every quotation and packing list whether you ask or not. If origin changes between releases on a blanket, we flag it before shipping.

Every line / automatic

Heat-Lot Traceability

Graded and structural product is received, binned and picked by heat lot, so a cert can be matched back to the specific parts you got.

Graded · Structural / bin-level

PPAP Submissions

Level 1 is the Part Submission Warrant on its own. Level 3 adds the supporting records, including dimensional and material results.

Level 1 · Level 3 / production release

Plating Certification

Coating thickness and process certification from the plater for parts we send out for finish.

ZP · ZY · HDG / from the plater

Order the documentation with the parts. Reconstructing a cert after a shipment leaves the dock means matching a carton you already opened back to a bin we've since replenished — sometimes we can, sometimes we honestly can't.

Domestic & DFARS

Domestic sourcing, handled honestly.

"DFARS compliant" is not a property of a company. Applicability depends on the contract clause and the specific line item, so we handle it per line rather than as a badge in the footer.

Separate stock

Domestic product is binned apart from import

Physically separated in the warehouse with distinct bin labels, so a domestic order can't be filled from an import lot by mistake during a busy pick.

Per line, not per company

Compliance is confirmed on the specific part

Where DFARS 252.225-7009 applies, we verify the required melt or production origin, qualifying-country status, or the documented fastener exception before accepting the order. Tell us at the quote, not after.

Buy American

We'll say when we can't meet it

Some categories we simply cannot source domestically at any lead time. We'd rather lose that line than have you find out at receiving inspection.

Matched assemblies

Bolt, nut and washer traced separately

A structural assembly is three components from three production lots. Each carries its own documentation — we don't cover a nut with the bolt's mill report.

Receiving inspection

What we check before it goes in the bin.

Incoming lots are verified against the purchase order and the mill documentation. It's a distribution-level inspection, not a testing laboratory, and we describe it that way on purpose.

  • Part identification and quantity against the purchase order
  • Dimensional check on a sample against the governing standard
  • Thread verification with calibrated ring and plug gauges
  • Hardness check on graded product, Rockwell scale
  • Plating and finish appearance against the specified coating
  • Mill documentation matched to the heat lot on the carton
  • Gauges calibrated annually against NIST-traceable standards
  • Head Marks

  • Thread Gauge

  • Hardness

  • Dimensional

  • Finish Check

  • Lot Match
